We are currently seeking Safety Watch Personnel to support Air Division operations during turnaround and project work. This position is a dual-role function, requiring personnel to perform both Safety Watch and Breathing Air (Bottle) Watch duties. Key Responsibilities

Safety Watch Personnel are responsible for supporting safe execution of work by monitoring conditions, personnel, and equipment in active work zones. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor safe work practices for assigned job operations and equipment
• Perform daily inspections of work areas and ongoing site hazard assessments
• Conduct and participate in safety meetings, drills, and field inspections
• Monitor emergency planning zones and changing site conditions
• Initiate stop-work authority when unsafe or high-risk conditions are identified
• Maintain constant visual contact and clear communication with workers and supervisors
• Perform dual-role duties, including:
• Confined Space Watch
• Breathing Air / Bottle Watch
• Monitor breathing air supply systems, bottle pressures, change-out requirements, and hose management as required
• Support emergency response activities as directed
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned to support Air Division operations

Physical & Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to safely perform work in demanding industrial environments, including:

• Walking stairs and slopes
• Working at heights
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind)
• Standing for extended periods
• Frequent walking, sometimes on uneven ground

Job Description

As a Tank Cleaning Technician, you will support the execution of industrial tank cleaning projects, including the setup, operation, and completion of work scopes using wash units, pumps, and robotic cleaning equipment. You will perform pre-use equipment inspections, follow all operating and safe work procedures, and carry out tasks as directed by the Field Supervisor or Project Manager, including work within confined spaces, while upholding the company’s safety, quality, and core values.

Responsibilities:

• Industrial tank cleaning execution: perform tasks associated with the preparation, set up and completion of Tank Cleaning projects.
• Complete pre-use inspections of equipment to ensure it is operating safely.
• Operation of equipment such as wash units and pumps, robotic tank cleaning equipment and conducting pre-commissioning services.
• Ensure that all required Operating and Safe Work Procedures are followed.
• Following and upholding the safety and quality expectations held by RJ Maclean in Tank Cleaning. Promote organization’s Core Values.
• Ensure tasks as communicated by Field Supervisor/Project Manager are executed inside tanks.

The Position:

The Vapor Control Technician is responsible for the safe setup, operation, and maintenance of vapor control systems across a variety of industrial job sites. This role involves hands-on equipment operation, environmental system monitoring, and supporting site remediation activities in physically demanding and safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities:

• Safely set up, operate, and monitor vapor control equipment, including scrubbers, thermal oxidizers, flares, heat exchangers, hoses, and ducting systems
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Monitor system performance, maintain operational integrity, and complete accurate data logging and reporting
• Conduct pre-job inspections of equipment, hoses, pumps, and work areas; identify and report hazards or deficiencies to supervision
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and related tank components
• Support project mobilization, site setup, process verification, and remediation activities
• Work safely in and around heavy equipment in loud, hazardous industrial environments

Qualification and Competencies:

• Experience operating and troubleshooting industrial equipment; vapor control systems (flares, scrubbers, thermal oxidizers) considered an asset
• Strong mechanical aptitude (hoses, pumps, valves, and fittings)
• Knowledge of environmental and safety compliance standards
• Ability to perform inspections, monitoring, and data logging
• Willingness to respond to 24/7 emergency call-outs, as required
• Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather conditions
• Previous experience in industrial services, oil & gas, environmental services, or tank/vessel cleaning is an asset
• Physically capable of lifting and handling equipment up to 50 lbs
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow procedures and safety protocols

Job Description

This site-based, seasonal role involves ensuring RJ MacLean complies with regulations and legislation while exceeding client expectations. Our HSE Specialists provide safety oversight, oversees confined space air monitoring, and man watch services while maintaining an effective health and safety management system that protects employees, subcontractors, the public, the environment, and company assets from hazardous actions and conditions and ensures regulatory compliance on industrial sites.

Safety & Compliance 

·       Remain current with legislative requirements for the jurisdiction where RJM conducts work activities 

·       Assist in the development of site-specific ERPs 

·       Conduct site orientations, weekly safety meetings, safety talks and site inspections with staff and subcontractors, ensuring that all safety compliance is met 

·       Review and sign off Target Zeros 

·       Audit paperwork to ensure it is being completed and completed correctly 

·       Maintain company programs compliance with provincial and federal regulations, COR, and client specific requirements 

·       In conjunction with the HSE team ensure active Employees training is current and coordinate recertifications as required to stay compliant

·       Champion pre-qualification of subcontractors' evaluations/receiving all required paperwork and scoring before hiring, working closely with Admin to ensure all paperwork is current in the tracker and subcontractor KPIs are being logged

·       Revise and construct SOPs and Work Instructions based on the determined QC format

We are seeking a QA/QC Technician (Breathing Air) to support turnaround operations by inspecting, cleaning, maintaining, and verifying breathing air equipment in the field. This role plays a key part in ensuring breathing air systems are safe, compliant, and ready for service.

Key Responsibilities

The QA/QC Technician is responsible for quality assurance and quality control activities related to breathing air systems and equipment, including:

• Clean, inspect, and maintain breathing air equipment on site, including:
• Breathing air hoses
• Manifolds
• Regulators and fittings
• SABA/SCBA
• AV3000 SS Masks
• Perform cleaning and servicing in accordance with manufacturer requirements, company procedures, and applicable standards
• Verify equipment condition, cleanliness, and serviceability prior to deployment
• Identify damaged, contaminated, or non-conforming equipment and remove it from service
• Complete QA/QC inspections and documentation for breathing air equipment
• Track equipment status, inspections, and maintenance activities
• Support breathing air setup, teardown, and troubleshooting during turnaround operations
• Operate breathing air compressors when qualified; Jordair compressor operation is considered an asset
• Coordinate with Air Division Supervisors to ensure equipment readiness and availability
• Maintain housekeeping standards in work and equipment storage areas
• Participate in safety meetings, FLHAs, and job planning activities
• Exercise stop-work authority if unsafe or non-compliant conditions are identified
• Support incident, near-miss, or equipment failure investigations as required
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of Air Division operations

Location: LNGC Kitimat

 Schedule:

The selected Equipment Operator will work 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. In the future, this position has the potential for additional hours, weekend work, or night-shift.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment as per company and customer expectations

• Maintain equipment in accordance with company and manufacturer requirements

• Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

• Maintain accurate ELD logs and required documents.

• Attend daily safety meetings

• Follow the safety program, including all policies, procedures and practices

• Maintain valid safety tickets & site orientations as required

 
Qualification and Competencies:

• Minimum 3 Years, valid Class 1 License w/ Clean Abstract with Air Brake Endorsement

• Must be Experienced with the operation of a Semi Vac/ Hydro Vac/Combo Vac Unit

• 13 or 18 Speed Transmission experience (must be able to drive manual transmission)

• Strong communicator with staff, managers and other drivers

• Instructor certified First Aid & H2S Alive

• CSE, CSTS, Fall Protection, Ground Disturbance are considered assets

• Operate a heavy vehicle in challenging environments, in all weather, and in compliance of legal, company, and client requirements.

• Ability to pass pre-employment Fit to Work & Drug Alcohol Testing

• Must be physically fit to enter and exit the vehicle many times per day, inspect under vehicle and trailer, and climb.

• Must be local to the Kitimat and surrounding area

• MUST BE WILLING to work day-shift, night-shift and weekends, on a rotating basis
